Brussels to Host Final Event Showcasing Future of Smart and Energy-Efficient Buildings

23 Mar 2026

Brussels, 25 March — Key stakeholders from across Europe will gather on 25 March for the joint final event of the FORTESIE and DEDALUS projects, two initiatives at the forefront of building renovation and energy innovation.

The hybrid event will take place both online and in person at The Skyline (Rue de Trèves 74, Brussels), running from 9:00 AM to 2:00 PM CET. It is expected to bring together project partners, policymakers, researchers, industry leaders, and other stakeholders to reflect on the future of smart and flexible buildings and their critical role in Europe’s energy transition.

A central focus of the event will be the presentation of the projects’ main achievements. Participants will gain insight into the lessons learned and future perspectives emerging from both FORTESIE and DEDALUS, particularly in the areas of digitalisation, energy renovation, and demand response solutions. These innovations are seen as key drivers in improving building efficiency, flexibility, and sustainability.

In addition to project presentations, the programme will feature a roundtable discussion exploring how smart and energy-efficient buildings can contribute to Europe’s evolving energy ecosystem. The discussion aims to foster dialogue on practical pathways to accelerate the adoption of intelligent building solutions across the continent.

Organisers emphasize that the event represents not only a milestone for the two projects but also an opportunity to strengthen collaboration within the European building renovation community.

Participants are encouraged to attend either in person in Brussels or online, and to engage in shaping the next steps toward a more sustainable and energy-efficient built environment.

Further details are available in the event press release.
