Hosted at the European Commission’s Charlemagne Building, the three-day event brings together citizens, policymakers, local authorities and civil society actors to exchange ideas and accelerate climate action across the continent. The event is widely seen as a key moment in the EU climate calendar, marking progress toward a greener and more resilient Europe while supporting the bloc’s broader climate neutrality goals. It is perfectly suited for those innovators and organisations driving sustainability and circularity in urban development and construction, in line with the Shake Up mission. 

A three-day programme focused on action  

This year’s edition follows a structured programme designed to foster collaboration and inspire solutions: 

- 23 March: A dedicated “community day” reserved to members of the European Climate Pact, including ambassadors and partners, to share experiences and strengthen networks. 

- 24–25 March: Open sessions for the public, featuring workshops, discussions and interactive activities on climate action. 

Across the programme, participants can engage in policy dialogues with EU officials, attend expert-led sessions, and explore exhibitions and creative showcases highlighting grassroots climate initiatives. 

Focus on collaboration and practical solutions  

Organisers emphasise that the event is not only about discussion, but also about co-creating solutions. Workshops, storytelling sessions and networking opportunities are designed to connect local initiatives with EU-level policies and encourage real-world impact. 

A particular focus this year is on the built environment, including building renovation and energy efficiency: areas seen as crucial to reducing emissions and advancing Europe’s climate transition. 

By bringing together diverse voices, from policymakers to grassroots activists, the “Together in Action 2026” event underscores the importance of collective effort in tackling climate change and shaping Europe’s sustainable future. 

With both in-person and online participation available, the event aims to reach a wide audience across Europe. Live streaming of key sessions ensures accessibility beyond Brussels, reflecting the Climate Pact’s goal of inclusive engagement.
