20 Dec 2024

The Kick-off Meeting of the Erasmus+ project “SHAKE-UP: Shake Up Your Skills – Seismic and Energy Retrofitting for Building Resilience” was successfully held in Ankara on 12–13 December 2024. The two-day event brought together all project partners to officially launch the project, clarify roles, and foster collaboration for the upcoming activities.

The first day of the meeting took place at a hotel in Ankara and began with registration and a welcome coffee. A representative from the Ministry of Environment, Urbanization and Climate Change of Türkiye delivered the opening speech. This was followed by a comprehensive presentation introducing the SHAKE-UP project, including its objectives, scope, and expected outcomes.

Partner organizations then took the floor to present their expertise in the fields of seismic safety, energy efficiency, and retrofitting techniques, with presentations held in two sessions before and after lunch.

On the second day, the meeting continued at the Ministry’s Headquarters. The day opened with discussions on the project’s work plan, tasks, and partner responsibilities, followed by breakout groups focusing on technical and practical aspects of the project.

The meeting concluded with closing remarks and acknowledgments to all participants for their contributions and active involvement.

The SHAKE-UP project aims to promote innovative, energy-efficient, and seismic-resilient retrofitting approaches for existing buildings through transnational cooperation, capacity building, and knowledge sharing. This fruitful and well-organized kick-off meeting laid a solid foundation for effective collaboration and successful implementation in the coming months.
